Question

Name the hormone which provides immunity.

Open in App
Solution

Sex hormones such as estrogen are responsible for providing immunity because these hormones are steroid hormones and are able to enter the cells. The receptors for these hormones are present on the surface of certain cells such as monocytes, neutrophils, dendritic cells etc. These hormones affect the proliferation and apoptosis of the immune cells and are therefore responsible for providing immunity.
