Question

Name the hormone which stimulates the resorption of water and electrolysis in kidneys.

Open in App
Solution

The hormone aldosterone is secreted by the adrenal gland. It stimulates the reabsorption of sodium ions into the bloodstream, the release of potassium ions in urine and the reabsorption of water from the distal tubule and the collecting duct of the nephrons. Aldosterone is therefore responsible for the resorption of water and electrolysis in kidneys.
