  • Adrenal gland is a yellowish conical-shaped gland, situated on top of each kidney. It is divided into an inner medulla and an outer cortex.

  • Hormones of adrenal medulla
    • Epinephrine (Adrenaline)
    • Norepinephrine (Noradrenaline).
    • Adrenaline together with noradrenaline, prepares the body for 'fight or flight.

  • Hormones of adrenal cortex
    • Glucocorticoid: Regulate the glucose levels in the body. E.g. cortisol
    • Mineralocorticoid: Regulate the salt and water balance in the body. E.g. aldosterone
    • Sexcorticoid: Regulate the sexual maturation in the body. E.g. androgen
