Name the hormones secreted by adrenal medulla.

Open in App
Solution

Adrenal glands:

  1. The adrenal glands are the pair of pyramidal-shaped glands above the two kidneys in the abdominal region.
  2. Adrenal glands synthesize and secrete hormones from two regions; the cortex and medulla.
  3. Hormones produced by the adrenal medulla are adrenaline (epinephrine) and noradrenaline (norepinephrine). These hormones work opposite each other as the adrenaline hormone prepares the body to respond to stress conditions. In contrast, the noradrenaline hormone tries to reestablish the normal conditions in the body.
