Adrenal Medulla:
The adrenal medulla is present inside the adrenal gland. It is made up of chromaffin cells.
It is surrounded by the adrenal cortex and is found in the core of the gland.
In response to stimulation by sympathetic preganglionic neurons, chromaffin cells produce catecholamines such as epinephrine (adrenaline), norepinephrine (noradrenaline), and a little quantity of dopamine.
These hormones trigger flight or fight responses under stress conditions.
