  1. Twins can be generated as offspring. When two babies are born from the same pregnancy, twins are developed.
  2. Twin formation can be of two types: Monozygotic and Dizygotic.

Fraternal /non-identical/dizygotic Twins:

  1. At times, two eggs one from each ovary may be released simultaneously.
  2. Both are fertilized, each by separate sperm. Each zygote develops into young ones.
  3. Such young ones are genetically different because each receives genes from a separate egg and a separate sperm.
  4. They may be of the same sex or different sexes.
