Sawdust and salt can be separated from their mixture by the method of Filtration:

• First, dissolve the mixture in water.
• The salt will dissolve in water and sawdust being lighter will float on the water surface.
• Now by filtration sawdust is collected as residue and saltwater are obtained as filtrate.
• Further by evaporation salt can also be obtained from water.
