Solution

Separation of mixtures:

  • The process of separation of different constituents of a mixture using physical methods is known as the separation of mixtures.

The separation of the mixture of Ammonium chloride NH4Cl and Sodium chloride NaCl :

Sublimation:

  • The process of separating the mixture of Ammonium chloride and Sodium chloride is sublimation.
  • In this process a sublimate substance changes its state from solid to gas directly without passing through a liquid state on heating.
  • In this mixture of Ammonium chloride and Sodium chloride, Ammonium chloride is a sublimate so it gets changed into vapor and can be separated in another container.
  • Sodium chloride will be left behind in the container.
  • After cooling the vapor of Ammonium chloride, we get it in its original solid state..

Conclusion:
Therefore, Ammonium chloride isNH4Clis separated from a mixture of Ammonium Chloride and Sodium chlorideNaCl by the process of Sublimation.
