Suspended solids in liquid mean a heterogeneous mixture of solid in liquid where solid particles are evenly spread throughout the liquid without dissolving in it.
Example: a mixture of water and sand
It can be separated by simple filtration.
Solid being insoluble remains in filter paper as residue and liquid passes easily through filter paper and is collected in a beaker as filtrate.
