Name the nerve which transmits the messages from ear to brain.
Auditory nerve
The auditory nerve is a bundle of nerve fibres that carries hearing information between the cochlea of the brain. Whereas, the optic nerve connects the eye to the brain. The optic nerve carries the impulses formed by the retina, the nerve layer that lines the back of the eye and senses light and creates impulses. The olfactory nerve is the first cranial nerve and conveys special sensory information related to smell. A mixed nerve containing both sensory and motor fibres transmit messages in both directions at once.
