Solution

Endoplasmic Reticulum and Golgi Body:

  1. In the formation of lysosomes, the endoplasmic reticulum, and Golgi body are involved.
  2. A lysosome is mainly important for the digestion of macromolecules, microorganisms, and old cell parts.

Function of Golgi body:

  1. Golgi body transfers the protein products it receives from the endoplasmic reticulum.
  2. It is involved in lipid transport and lysosome formation.
  3. Golgi apparatus is the site for the synthesis of various glycolipids and sphingomyelin.
  4. The main function of the Golgi apparatus is in the formation of proteoglycans.
  5. Golgi apparatus is also referred to as the Golgi body.

Function of endoplasmic reticulum:

  1. The rough endoplasmic reticulum plays an important role in the folding of the protein.
  2. The rough endoplasmic reticulum (RER) is involved in the synthesis of proteins.
  3. The smooth endoplasmic reticulum (SER)is responsible for the production and secretion of steroid hormones.
