Photosynthesis:

  1. Photosynthesis is the process of conversion of light energy into chemical energy in the form of food using chlorophyll pigments.
  2. Leaf contains the green pigments called chlorophyll, which performs photosynthesis in the presence of sunlight.
  3. Chlorophyll in the leaves entraps the sunlight and uses carbon dioxide and water to produce food (glucose) and oxygen.
  4. Food is produced in the leaf and from there it is conducted to other parts of the plant.
