Solution

1. Static balance:

  1. Static equilibrium is the maintenance of the proper head position in response to changes in linear motion such as walking.
  2. Part of the ear associated with a static balance is Sacculus.

Sacculus:

  1. It is a part of the semicircular canals of the inner ear.
  2. It contains sensory cells called the macula which help in the static balance of the body when it is in a stationary position.

2. Hearing:

The part of the ear associated with hearing is the organ of Corti.

Organ of Corti:

  1. The organ of Corti is situated in the basilar membrane of the inner ear, the organ of the Corti is the organ of hearing.
  2. It contains hair cells that have auditory receptor cells which are in turn found in rows on the internal side of the organ.

3. Dynamic balance:

  1. Dynamic equilibrium is the maintenance of proper head position in response to rotational movement such as turning.
  2. The vestibule lies between the semicircular canals and the cochlea (eardrum).
  3. The vestibule is responsible for maintaining static equilibrium while the semicircular canals maintain dynamic equilibrium.

The part of the ear associated with dynamic balance is cristae present in the ampullae of semicircular ducts.
