Solution

Parts of leaves that allow transpiration:

  1. The parts of a leaf that allows transpiration are the stomata and cuticle.
  2. They both help in the process of transpiration(evaporation of water).

Stomatal transpiration:

  1. It is the evaporation of water from the stomata of the plants. Most of the water from the plants is transpired this way.
  2. The water near the surface of the leaves changes into vapour and evaporates when the stomata are open.

Cuticular transpiration:

  1. It is the evaporation of water from the cuticle of the plants.
  2. The cuticle is a waxy covering on the surface of the leaves of the plants.
  3. About 5-10% of the water from the leaves is lost through cuticular transpiration.
  4. During dry conditions when the stomata are closed, more water is transpired through the cuticles.
