Solution

Nucleus:

The central part of an atom which contains protons and neutrons is known as the nucleus.

Sub-atomic particles in the nucleus:

The nucleus contains two types of sub-atomic particles: protons and neutrons.

  1. Protons: The protons are positively charged. Protons are denoted as p+.
  2. Neutrons: The neutrons are electrically neutral. Neutrons are denoted as n.

Thus, the sub-atomic particles present in the nucleus are positively charged protons and electrically neutral neutrons.
