Solution

Subatomic particles:

The small particles inside an atom are known as subatomic particles.

There are three types of subatomic particles:

  1. Electrons: Electrons are negatively charged.
  2. Protons: Protons are positively charged.
  3. Neutrons: Neutrons have no charge.

The atom is made up of two parts:

  1. Nucleus: The nucleus is the central part of the atom which contains protons and neutrons.
  2. Shells: The shells are the circular paths or orbits around the nucleus in which electrons revolve.

Thus, the particles present in the nucleus of an atom protons and neutrons.
