a) In endospermic seeds, cotyledons are fleshy and full of food.
b) In non-endospermic seeds, cotyledons are thin and papery and remain attached to the embryonic axis.

a) It grows and develops into the root system of the plant.
b) It is the pointed, lower end of the axis.
3. Plumule -
a) The feathery or leafy end of the axis is called the plumule.
b) It grows into the shoot system of the plant.
