  1. As we know, when we turn a radio set to a particular station, then the station will catch if the applied periodic force's frequency of the station becomes equal to the natural frequency of the radio set. Once both the frequency becomes equal then the radio takes up the vibrations and begins to vibrate with an increase in amplitude.
  2. We know, resonance is the condition when the frequency of an externally applied periodic force on a body is equal to its natural frequency, the body readily begins to vibrate with an increased amplitude.

Hence, from above, we can say that, the phenomenon involved in tuning a radio set to a particular station is called as resonance.
