Solution
The three states of matter are:
Solid: It has very less interparticle spaces but strong interparticle forces of attraction. Hence it cannot be compressed.
Liquid: It has interparticle spaces more than solids but lesser than gases. The interparticle forces of attraction is weaker than solid but strong enough to withstand compression. Hence it cannot be compressed.
Gas: It has very large interparticle spaces but very weak interparticle forces of attraction. Hence it can be easily compressed.
Hence, the physical state of matter that can be easily compressed is gas.
