Planet:
Planets are solid heavenly bodies that revolve around the Sun in closed elliptical orbits.
There are eight planets in the solar system. Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune.
The four inner planets:
Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars are called terrestrial planets.
The terrestrial planets have a dense, rocky surface, with few or no moons and no ring system.
The four outer planets:
Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune are called Jovian planets.
The outer planets are having a large number of gases, so these planets are also called gas giants.
