Name the pores in a leaf through which respiratory exchange of gases takes place.
The leaves exchange gases through pores called Stomata. Stomata are the small openings present on the inner surface of the leaves. Stomata can be opened and closed. During the night when no photosynthesis takes place, the plant breathes in oxygen and breathe out carbon dioxide through stomata. The plant loses water in the form of vapour through stomata. The loss of water through stomata is called transpiration. Transpiration helps the plant in cooling the leaves.
