  1. Rockets work on the principle of the law of conservation of momentum.
  2. According to the law of conservation of momentum, in an isolated system total momentum is conserved in the absence of an external force.
  3. Rocket emits gas in the backward direction which creates a momentum in forward direction as a result of that the rocket moves to the front.
