Excretion:

  1. Excretion can be defined as the process of removal or expulsion of waste from the cells of the body of living organisms.
  2. The different organs or parts of the body performing excretion form the excretory system.

Excretion in Amoeba:

  1. Amoeba is a unicellular organism whose waste products include carbon dioxide and ammonia.
  2. Their excretion is done by diffusion through the cell membrane.
  3. Diffusion can be defined as the movement of molecules from a region of higher concentration to a lower concentration.
  4. They have contractile vacuoles to collect the excess water and these vacuoles merge with the cytoplasm to release the excess water.
