Solution

Transpiration:

  1. It is the process of loss of water in the form of water vapor from the aerial parts of plants, such as leaves and stems.
  2. Transpiration in old tree stems occurs through lenticels, but in leaves, it occurs through small pores called stomata.
  3. The opening and closing of stomata are regulated by a pair of guard cells that surround them.
  4. Fine pores present on the leaf surface through which transpiration occurs are called stomata.
