Transpiration

  1. The removal of excess water from the plant in the form of water vapor is called transpiration which occurs through the stomata.
  2. Minute pores present in the leaf called stomata helps with transpiration as the water vapor moves out of the leaf into the air.
  3. Transpiration cools down the leaf surface and induces conduction of water through the xylem.
