Solution
Products and by-products of sugar industries are:
Bagasse, molasses, and press mud are the principal by-products.
Green leaves and tops, garbage, boiler ash, and effluent from the sugar industry and distillery are some of the other items and their byproducts that have little commercial value.
By-products of sugar production include molasses and beet pulp. Every ton of cane or beet that is processed results in the formation of molasses, a byproduct from which no more sugar can be extracted through further crystallization.
Sugar from crushed cane is extracted to make cane sugar. Bagasse, or depleted cane, can be utilized as a fuel source for power plants and can also be used to make paper or cardboard. After extraction, raw cane sugar is refined to create goods like granulated white sugar.
