A(1,2),B(1,0),C(1,2),D(3,0)

Open in App
Solution

Let A(3,5), B(3,1), C(0,3)
D(1,4) be the given points
[distance =x2x12+(y2y1)2]
AB=(3+3)2+(15)2=62+(4)2
AB=36+16=52=213
AB=213
BC=(03)2+(31)2
BC=(3)2+(2)2=9+4=13
BC=13
CD=(10)2+(43)2
CD=(1)2+(7)2=1+49
CD=50=52
DA=(1+3)2+(45)2
DA=(2)2+(9)2=4+81=85
DA=85
Now distances
AC=(0+3)2+(35)2=(3)2+(2)2
AC=9+4=13
AC=13
BD=(13)2+(41)2
BD=(4)2+(5)2=16+25
BD=41
Hence we see that from above sides
AC+BC=AB
13+13=213
A,B,C are collinear
Hence, points A,B,C & D does not from a quadrilateral.
