Right-hand thumb rule:

  1. The right-hand thumb rule gives the direction of the magnetic field produced due to a current-carrying conductor.
  2. According to this rule if we grab the current-carrying conductor in the right hand and extend the thumb in the direction of the current, then the curling of fingers gives the direction of the magnetic field.
