Solution

1.Sublimation 2.

The rate of evaporation is affected by the following factors:

  1. Temperature: The rate of evaporation increases with an increase in temperature.
  2. Surface area: The rate of evaporation increases with an increase in surface area.
  3. Humidity: The amount of water vapour present in the air is called humidity. The rate of evaporation decreases with an increase in humidity.
  4. Wind speed: Evaporation increases with an increase in wind speed.
3.Boiling watercontains only a specific amount ofheatenergy required for it to boil. However, assteamis formed fromboiling water, it contains theheatenergy ofboiling water, along with the latentheatof vaporization. Hence, assteamhas moreheatenergy, it can cause moresevere burns than boiling water 4.

Hydrogen gas is highly combustible in nature but it does not support combustion. For example, fill a glass jar with hydrogen gas and turn it upside down. Introduce a burning candle near the mouth of the jar. The gas at the jar burns but the burning candle gets put off. This shows that hydrogen gas is combustible but does not support combustion.

Where in oxygen gas, is the one which makes combustion possible. And when these two gases combine together, they no longer possess their individual properties, because they form a molecule. Properties of water are implied due to hydrogen bond and not because of hydrogen and oxygen gases.
