Solution

The Southernmost point of India is Indira Point. The Indira Point is situated in the Great Nicobar group of Island in Andaman Nicobar Islands. It is not visible today because it was submerged under the sea in the 2004 Tsunami. It was named after former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The point was formerly know as Pygmalion Point and Parson Point. It was renamed in mid-1980s in honour of Indira Gandhi.
