Narora Atomic Power Station (NAPS) is a nuclear power plant located in Narora, Bulandshahar District in Uttar Pradesh, India. The plant house comprises of two reactors. Each reactor runs on the concept of pressurized heavy-water reactor (PHWR) capable of producing 220 MW of electricity. The commercial operation of NAPS-1 began on 1 January 1991, NAPS-2 on 1 July 1992. The atomic power station runs in hands of the Nuclear Power Corporation of India(NPCIL) under Department of Atomic Energy, a central government enterprise.
