Name the structures that are present at the extreme anterior and extreme posterior end of the vulvar vestibule respectively.
The external genitalia of the female is known as the vulva. The components of the vulva are the mon pubis, labia majora, clitoris, vestibular bulbs, vulva vestibule, Bartholin’s glands, Skene’s glands, urethral and vaginal opening. The area between the labia minora is the vulva vestibule. The outer folds are called labia majora, the inner fold is called labia minora. These skin folds protect the opening of the urethra and vagina.
The inner folds of the vulva form a hood of skin on the top/anterior part of the vestibule called the prepuce of the clitoris or hood of the clitoris. Below which the clitoris is present. The bottom of the posterior part of the vulva vestibule is called the fourchette. Below the fourchette is the perineum. The perineum is the area between the genitals and the anus
The vestibule is a part of vulva, the area between the labia minora is called the vestibule. Anus, mons pubis, perineum, all lie outside the vestibular region of the vulva.
