  1. Sulphur- The most effective solvent for dissolving sulphur is carbon disulphide, it can also be dissolved in benzene and toluene.
  2. Rubber- Acetone or Toluene is used as a solvent to dissolve rubber.
  3. Resins- Isopropyl alcohol is used as a solvent to dissolve resins.
  4. Paints- Benzene, toluene mixed xylenes etc.
  5. Iodine- Iodine is soluble in both ethanol and hexane.
  6. Wax- Acetone and isopropyl alcohol are used as a solvent.
  7. Chlorophyll- Methylated spirit is used as a solvent.

  9. Sodium- Water can dissolve the salt.
