Solution

Dear student

The target cells of Plasmodium is red blood cells and the host insect is female anopheles mosquitoes. The plasmodium has the capacity to take over the host red blood cells. It has the ability to change its surface proteins, thereby making it difficult for the human immune system to recognise it.
