  2. This cavity is surrounded by an extraembryonic membrane which is known as an amnion.
  3. This fluid in the amniotic cavity protects and supports the fetus from the mechanical jerk.
  4. By maintaining pressure it also protects the fetus from damage.
  5. Amniotic fluid insulates the baby, by maintaining a regular temperature.
  6. It help in the supply of water and other materials to the fetus.
