Solution

Fixing of developing embryo:

  • The process of fixing of developing embryo on the uterine wall is called implantation.
  • During fertilization, when the sperm and egg fuse to form a zygote, it travels down the fallopian tube, to become morula.
  • On reaching the uterus the morula becomes a blastocyst.
  • The blastocyst reaches the uterus and attaches itself to it and sinks into the uterine endometrium.
  • This process is called implantation.
