Name the tissue found at the lining of food pipe

The wall of alimentary canal from oesophagus to rectum possess four layers these are :-
  • Serosa - It is the outermost layer and is made up of mesothelium with connective tissues.
  • Muscularis - It is arranged in an inner circular and outer longitudinal layer formed by smooth muscles.
  • Submucosa - This layer is formed of loose connective tissues and it forms the lining of the food pipe.
  • Mucosa - The innermost layer lining the lumen forms irregular folds in the stomach and small finger like folding called villi in the small intestine.
