Treaty of Paris

The Third Carnatic War was fought between the French and the British from 1758 to 1763. It put an end to the French ambitions to create a colonial empire in India. The war concluded with the signing of the Treaty of Paris in 1763. As per the treaty, the Chandranagar and Pondicherry was returned to France and the French were allowed to have trading posts in India but it did not allow the French traders to administer them.
