The type of immunity that is present at the time of birth in humans is Innate immunity. Two ways by which it can be accomplished are :

1) Physical barrier which includes skin (main barrier which prevents the entry of microbes), mucous membrane lining respiratory, gastro-intestinal and urino-genital tract which helps to trap the microbes entering the body.

2) Physiological barrier like acid in stomach, saliva in mouth and tears from eyes prevents microbial growth.
