Skull:

  1. Bony structure present in vertebrates that is responsible for the formation of the head and covering the brain is called the skull.
  2. It consists of two parts i.e mandible and cranium.

Type of joint present in the skull:

  1. The skull consists of fibrous joints that are made up of fibrous connective tissue.
  2. Suture is a special type of fibrous joint which is present only in the skull.
  3. During the birth of the child, a suture is unfused so that skull gets compressed during birth.
  4. After that sutures get fused to form a strong skull for the protection of the brain
