  1. A repeating motion in which an object continuously repeats in the same motion again and again like a swing is called oscillatory motion.
  2. When a body moves to and fro (backward and forward) about its mean position, it is called oscillatory motion.
  3. In oscillatory motion the entire body moves to and fro.
  4. The swing moves to and fro about its means position of rest.
  5. The other examples are the pendulum of a clock and the piston of a car engine.

Hence, a swing in motion possesses oscillatory motion.
