• Igneous rocks:

  • We can get metallic minerals from igneous rocks.

• Sedimentary rocks:
  • When the igneous rocks are exposed to erosion and weathering they are converted into sediments
  • These sediments go through compaction and cementation to form sedimentary rocks.
  • They host non-metallic minerals like limestone, coal and petroleum.
• Metamorphic rocks:
  • Sedimentary rocks/ igneous rocks are converted into metamorphic rocks when they are subjected to heat and pressure.
  • They host metallic minerals like iron, nickel and copper.
