Solution

  1. A zygote is formed by the fusion of male and female gamete and is termed as fertilization.
  2. The pollen germinates in the stigma and the pollen tube starts developing. The pollen tubes which contain male gametes move down towards the ovary.
  3. The pollen tube then enters the ovule which contains the female gamete.
  4. The male and female gamete undergo fusion which is called fertilization.
  5. Fertilization results in a zygote which develops into an embryo.
  6. After fertilization, the flower losses its bright colour, and vegetative parts like petals, sepals, and reproductive parts like stamen will wither off.
  7. Ovary increases in size and forms a fruit.
  8. Ovule which has an embryo in it becomes a seed.
  9. The ovary wall will become the fruit wall.
  10. The seed contains an embryo enclosed in a protective layer.
