Types of pollination on the basis of its agent:

  1. Wind Pollination:
    • Agent which facilitates the pollination is wind.
    • Dull flowers with no scent and nectar.
    • Small and light pollen grains are present.
    • Sticky and feathery stigma is present.
    • Examples: Wheat, rice, corn
  2. Water Pollination:
    • Pollination in aquatic plants is done by water.
    • Lightweight pollen grains are produced in aquatic plants and are released in large numbers.
    • Pollen grains travel from one flower to another with water currents.
    • Feathery stigma is present.
    • Examples: Vallisneria and Hydrilla
