The three disease that affects cattle are -
1. ANTHRAX
Causative agent - It is a bacterial disease caused by the bacteria Bacillus anthracis. The bacteria produce high potent toxins , which causes ill effects in the cattle causing death.
Symptoms - include difficulty in breathing, death within 2-3 days, bloody discharge from mouth etc.
Treatment - In most cases this disease is non curable as it causes sudden death in the animal. But,the bacteria can be treated by using antibiotics such as penicillin, tetracycline etc.
2. RINGWORM
Causative agent - It is caused by fungus and , is the most common skin disease of cattle. Grey patches are developed in the neck region and around the eye and head.
Symptoms - of the disease include skin irritation, rashes, itching, skin damage.
Treatment - For controlling the disease, it is necessary to separate the affected animals. Proper nutrition should be provided to the cattle such as Vitamin A , zinc , copper.
3. RABIES
Causative agent - It is caused by rabies virus, which is a fatal virus. It attacks the nervous system brain and spinal cord of the animals causing death and deterioration of the cattle.
Symptoms include - lack of appetite, difficulty in swallowing, altered voice.
Treatment is done by charactering the virus and then sending the animal for enhanced laboratory surveillance. By restricting the movement of animals.
