Anterior pituitary
Anterior pituitary secretes Growth hormone, Thyroid stimulating hormone, Adrenocorticotropic hormone, Prolactin hormone, Gonadotrophic hormone (Follicle stimulating hormone, Luteinizing hormone).
Growth hormone stimulates growth.
Thyroid stimulating hormone controls growth and activity of thyroid gland.
Adrenocorticotropic hormone stimulates cortex of adrenal gland to produce hormones.
Prolactin hormone stimulates corpus luteum of ovary to secrete progesterone.
Follicle stimulating hormone stimulates growth of ovarian follicles and secretion of estrogens in female and spermatogenesis in male.
Luteinizing hormone stimulates corpus luteum of ovary to secrete progesterone and in males activates Leydig's cells of testis to secrete androgens.
