Tobacco smoking:

  1. Tobacco contains a chemical called nicotine which is a highly addictive substance.
  2. This is the reason why consuming Tobacco either in the form of smoking cigarettes or chewing it may result in strong addiction and short-term effects as well as chronic diseases.

Two diseases caused by tobacco are lung cancer and oral cancer.

  1. Coal tar is a sticky black residue that is formed as a result of tobacco smoking and damages the lungs which results in lung cancer.
  2. Chewing tobacco causes gum diseases as well as tooth decay. It can also lead to oral cancer.
