  2. Meiosis is the process of cell division that results in the formation of sex cells (sperm and egg).
  3. There are two major events that occur in both mitosis and meiosis i.e. the division of nuclear material called karyokinesis and the division of cytoplasm called cytokinesis.
  4. Karyokinesis means the process of division of the nucleus during mitosis or meiosis.
  5. Cytokinesis means the process of division of cytoplasm during mitosis or meiosis.
