Name two metals that possess a low melting point.

Open in App
Solution

Melting point: The melting point is the temperature at which a substance changes from a solid to a liquid state.

The melting point of metals:

  1. Most metals have a high melting point and boiling point. For example, iron metal has a high melting point of 1535°C.
  2. But there are some metals such as sodium and potassium which possess low melting points of 98°C and 64°C respectively. Other metals such as Gallium(Ga) and Caesium(Cs) also have low melting points of 30°Cand28°C respectively and therefore, they start melting in our hands.

Thus, two metals that possess a low melting point are Gallium(Ga) and Caesium(Cs).
