This is because of their following properties :-

1. Ductile :- they can be easily drawn into Wires .

2. Malleable :- they can be easily drawn in to thin sheets .

3. Lustrous :- they have an extra ordinary shine .

4. Noble metals :- they are totally un reactive and hence retain their shine for long .
